My friend David shared a life hack that I believe will make a real difference for me, especially in social situations.
We both enjoy hosting events. There's something fulfilling about creating a space where people can have a great time. It's this feeling of responsibility and joy in being the official host that really resonates with us.
David's advice was simple yet profound: wherever you are, think of yourself as the host.
I have no doubt that this mindset works wonders, even in random places like a bar where you know no one. A good host has this positive energy - they're relaxed, feel like they belong, and aren't intimidated by anyone because it's their space. They're having fun, naturally, because why host if you're not enjoying it? They're responsible for making sure everyone's meeting, joking, and having a good time, all while maintaining a high-vibration and positive mindset.
This idea struck me as brilliant. Whenever I'm in the 'host' mindset, I feel the most comfortable with who I am. So why not transfer that confidence to any setting, familiar or not?
Adopting this attitude means carrying that same confidence and sense of loving care for others' enjoyment wherever I go. And the best part of this attitude is it’s not just about being me feeling comfortable or “high status”; it's about caring for the experience of those around me.
I can’t wait to try this mindset out constantly in 2024.
Be a steward of good vibes wherever you go 🙂
