Reflecting on my overarching aspiration to create a regenerative superorganism, I've come to identify three key areas of technological infrastructure that, in my view, are essential for the realization of this goal.
- IDENTITY SYSTEM: First and foremost, the creation of an advanced identity and reputation system comes to mind. I envision it as a full-blown regenerator identity system. The idea is to have a platform where one can track all their contributions to regenerating the planet, disclose relevant attributes that are essential for coordination - such as current location, languages spoken, educational background, and individual skills. This is crucial because, without a machine-readable identity system, matching people with supportive AI or complementary individuals becomes a significant challenge. One needs to be able to disclose their goals, needs, and location to obtain the help they require effectively.
- BOUNTY SYSTEM: The second key component I see is a bounty system of sorts. This would act as a marketplace for work, specifically in the realm of regenerative work. The objective is to create a system that at a minimum offers a record of contribution, but ideally also ties into financial or other forms of compensation. We need to move beyond centralized employers dictating what's worth doing to regenerate the planet, towards a decentralized marketplace that acknowledges and rewards essential regenerative work.
- LEGAL TOOLS: The third critical tech that I believe is vital involves the simplification of setting up legal entities. Currently, tasks such as tokenizing land value, health of the soil, or setting up biodiversity credits are immensely complex and frustrating processes. We need tech infrastructure that makes these currently cumbersome tasks more accessible, allowing for the easier creation of asset-backed currencies, land trusts, startups, and tokens. This is a vital step in enabling us to value, protect, and trade our planet's resources more effectively.
In summary, I believe that these three areas: an advanced identity and reputation system, a bounty system for regenerative work, and a streamlined method of creating legal entities are the foundational elements needed in the technological backbone of a regenerative superorganism. The journey is daunting, but I'm fueled by the profound impact these technologies could have on our world.
