It's been a moment of awakening, a surprise unfolding in my own mind. It's not everyday that you realize you're built, just right, for a unique purpose in this world. But lately, that's the epiphany I've had: I'm perfectly suited to be the 2.0 Guy.
You might ask, "What does that mean, the 2.0 Guy?" Let me explain. It's about being the driver of civic movements, inspiring people and government officials alike to believe in a 'leveled up' version of their city, region, or even their entire country.
Take America for instance. It's a country with such potential to transform, to improve, to level up. That’s why I started a blog, America 2.0, to depict a vision of a future where foundational tech is leveraged for growth. This idea isn't confined to the US alone; I've carried this concept as far as Montenegro, a quaint country nestled in Eastern Europe.
I had the opportunity to craft a 2.0 vision for Montenegro alongside local students and government officials, creating a collective belief that a brighter, more advanced future was attainable. The transformational potential for Montenegro to become an innovation and cultural hub for the world is immense. I've also begun similar work in Tanzania.
These country-specific endeavors are shaped by my work with Humanity 2.0, an organization affiliated with the Vatican and prominent universities like Harvard, Oxford, and U Penn. Our goal is to facilitate human flourishing at various scales of civilization, and aid companies, people, and countries to reach their full potential.
So, what qualifies me for such a daunting role? What makes me the 2.0 Guy?
Well, I owe a lot to my tech background and my knack for spotting trends half a decade or more in advance. But it's more than that. It's my sheer enthusiasm when I am passionate about something, and my ability to command attention when I choose to devote my time to it. It's my appreciation for different cultures, and my knack for helping people of all generations and industries to see each other's value in the grand equation of human flourishing.
Moreover, I resonate with the oddball builders of the world, those creative spirits whose hands and minds will construct our future. I've found that I move at breakneck speeds when my passion is ignited, and strive to maintain a flow state among my collaborators as we work toward our shared vision.
Realizing that I am the 2.0 Guy has been thrilling. Understanding your place in the world isn't easy. Many aspire to be visionaries, to lead movements, but such tasks demand a rare blend of traits and experiences.
I recognize now that my unique combination of skills and characteristics has fashioned me into the 2.0 Guy. My ethnicity, physical appearance, family background, and life experiences across various industries have all played a role. I believe I'm the one who can rally governments, industries, civil societies, and even artists to work together, striving for a brighter future, not just for specific regions but for all of humanity.
