Today, I had one of the most invigorating conversations I've had in a long time. It was with a friend whom I challenged to fully embrace a powerful legacy—one of being an unapologetically pro-black leader who unites other pro-black leaders to radically elevate Black America. This is about speaking truths that highlight the condition of Black America and organizing not just individual successes but public projects that elevate the entire community.
This conversation was exhilarating, partly because I deeply care about this mission. But it's also thrilling to see someone embrace their big mission, something they seem almost destined for. It's inspiring to see them start realizing who they are and to help encourage them to pursue that great mission, their divine purpose.
What makes me feel alive, what I believe I'm meant to do, is helping people pursue their divine purpose. It’s not just about what they can do or need to do to survive, or even what pays well. It's about something far more meaningful—something that might lead to more money, but is ultimately about fulfilling what they're truly meant to do, what they feel called to by a higher power.
I love echoing the deep-seated knowledge they carry within them of what they must do. Playing this role, facilitating this journey for others, it's what makes me feel truly alive.
