Lately, I've been reflecting on a simple yet profound piece of advice that's really shifted my perspective: "Follow the energy."
For someone who's always leaned heavily on logical, analytical thinking, this has been quite a revelation. I've spent years meticulously planning my life – one-year, two-year, even five-year plans. But I've come to realize that my plans are often based on a reductive and somewhat false understanding of the world. It's almost humorous to think that every time I make a plan, it's like God is laughing at my attempts to predict and control my life.
Looking back, I see that about 90% of the good things in my life happened almost by accident, not as a result of these long-term plans. They happened when I followed the energy – that high vibration I felt in certain places, with certain people, or in specific opportunities.
When I “follow the energy” I end up in communities and spaces that align with who I truly am and what my greatest ideals are – not some outdated version of who I thought I am when I made a plan years ago. Following the energy is a stark contrast to the almost controlling nature of planning based on fear and the assumption that I shouldn't trust my intuition.
When I trust in my intuition, and rely less on my brain, things often turn out not only without regrets but also wonderfully. When you need to control everything, you limit the possibilities of your future by relying only on what you know.
The universe is complex and ever-expanding, and I'm finding that it's better to move with this flow of expansion rather than restrict myself to my limited understanding. Life is about expansion, not contraction.
So, as I navigate through this journey, I’m embracing this new way of living – following the energy and seeing where it leads me. It's a more spontaneous, less constrained approach, and it feels like a more authentic way to experience life and its endless possibilities.
