I've spent a lot of time thinking about investments, and we often talk about it in terms of money. Put some cash into something, and you hope you'll get more back. Simple “Return on Investment”-related thinking, right? But lately, I've been pondering something a little different. Something deeper, something more human. I call it the "Return on Energy" or ROE.
Think about it: money's really just a physical form of time and energy. You work a job, you put in energy, you get money. What's more valuable than money? Your own energy. Your life force. It's the most important thing you've got, so managing it well should be a priority.
I want to make sure that the energy I put into the world feels like it has good ROE. Not just for me, but for my family and for the world. I want every ounce of my effort to generate more happiness, more fulfillment, more life. This isn't about getting older; it's about getting wiser with where you spend your energy.
It's about dedicating my life to things that really matter, things that inspire others to live fully. I want to be a part of something more significant, something that values the energy I put in, something like a web of light, supercharged and supportive.
But let's face it, high return on energy activities is not what most people experience daily. So many folks out there are just getting by, tired, exhausted, and barely meeting their basic needs. Despite our technological advances, we've got people living painful lives, giving so much and not really living at all.
And that's a problem, a big problem.
In my view, our energy should be going towards creating a supportive community, a sort of village where people have each other's backs. Imagine a place where, even if you're sick or down on your luck, you're taken care of because of the energy you've given before.
That's the profound return on energy I dream of. It's not just about work; it's about life. It's about creating a world where your energy doesn't just get used up but continues to flourish and nourish others. That's the kind of investment I believe in, and that's what I want to focus on.
We all deserve to feel rewarded for the energy we put into the world. We all deserve a good return on energy.
Let's make that the norm, not just the dream.
