I've come to a place where I can no longer tolerate our passive acceptance of junk food. The way I see it, if you're going to partake in that, you might as well be compensated - that's how damaging it is. People argue that fast food is the only affordable option for many, but I'm not sure I buy that. Can we truly afford something that's slowly robbing us of our health, our clarity of mind, and our life essence?
It's these cookies, chips, and deep-fried concoctions, these almost unrecognizable processed items that we have audaciously labeled as food. I can't, in good conscience, call them food. It's a gross misrepresentation.
I've come to know these as degenerative foods. They're not merely neutral, or somewhat nourishing, but actively harmful. They don't offer anything good, instead, they take. They strip away your well-being, and leave you worse off. It's like you're caught in this relentless spiral, where consuming a bit only incites a desire for more.
Have you ever known someone to have just one cookie, and then suddenly, they've had enough for life? Or someone to have a sip of alcohol and then be done with it forever? Sure, there are exceptions, people with extraordinary willpower, but they are the outliers, not the norm.
I want to push for food that doesn't engender dependency or addiction. Food that doesn't sap your willpower. I envision a kind of food that actually enhances your autonomy, uplifts your consciousness, and deepens your connection with the divine. A type of food that makes you feel more alive, energizes you, and reignites your appreciation for nature, simply because it is of nature.
I dream of this energizing, life-giving food. I aspire for a world that is rid of these degenerating foods. I urge for a collective stand against the corporations that continue to pump these harmful substances into our children, into our bodies. We should wage a war against degenerative foods.
