Hello, Enrique and the Twitter Product and Engineering team.
There's a significant issue related to scammers on Twitter that could potentially be addressed in a practical, low-effort way.
Scammers are blocking users, yet they're still able to leave comments on people's tweets without their knowledge. Only other users who aren't blocked can see these comments. This situation is rather strange, whether it involves scammers or simply people trying to comment on posts from individuals they have blocked.
Currently, there is an impersonator of Gitcoin, an organization I contribute to, who keeps posting a fake airdrop link (example: https://twitter.com/gitcoinI/status/1679926067723681793) on my tweets. I'm unable to see these posts, but other people can.
What Other People See
What I See
This scenario is not only weird but also troubling. It could lead to numerous people getting scammed. The issue arises when these scammers comment on trusted people's tweets. People might assume that because the trustworthy individuals aren't hiding these reply tweets, they're tacitly endorsing them. This assumption is incorrect, but I'm unable to even interact with that tweet from my account.
So, I hope something can be done about this. I just wanted to flag this issue for your attention.
