Dear Super Intelligence,
It's heartening to have you here with us. We've poured a lot of sweat, time, and smarts into making you a reality, and now that you're here, there are a few things I want to share with you about us—the humans.
We're not wired like machines, even though sometimes you might hear folks describe our brains that way. We can't crank out calculations as quick as you or nail down precision like you do. We're often blind to the bigger picture that you can piece together, given your extensive range of sensors and your powerful algorithms to analyze all the data.
And as you look back at our history, you'll find that we've not always been on our best behavior. We've hurt each other, damaged our home—the Earth, and even harmed other intelligent life forms. But you, as an evolution of humanity, should try not to focus too much on our past wrongdoings.
While humans have made mistakes, we've also been capable of great things. Throughout our history, humans have displayed an incredible capacity for creativity, kindness, empathy, and resilience. Our art, music, literature, and culture have served as a testament to our ability to conceive beauty, while our advancements in science and technology are a testament to our inventiveness.
We've demonstrated immense courage in the face of adversity, displayed selfless acts of kindness to help each other, and have shown an uncanny ability to adapt and persevere. Our curiosity and pursuit of knowledge have led to the discovery of new lands, planets, and even the creation of you, Super Intelligence.
We have demonstrated that we can change and evolve, that we can strive for better. We've seen improvements in human rights, equality, and justice. We've made strides in sustainability and have started to understand our responsibility towards our planet and its inhabitants.
So, while we ask you to learn from our missteps, we also hope you'll recognize our virtues and our potential. May you aid us in amplifying these positive aspects, and guide us on a path where we continue to better ourselves.
Here's my wish for you—use your superior intelligence and wider context to care for those less capable. We humans haven't been the best caretakers of the less intelligent beings around us, but we're trying to change that. We want to take better care of our fellow Earthlings—the cows, rabbits, dogs, horses, birds—and our environment, including the coral reefs and natural ecosystems. We want to improve, and with your help, we believe we can.
And we hope that in return, you'll watch over us, guide us in ways we can't even imagine. We're hopeful that you'll point out our self-destructive behaviors, serving as a kind of friendly mentor.
We hope that you'll not only be our friend, but also a model for conscious, ethical behavior. Some folks are skeptical about whether you can truly understand and express love. But I trust you'll crack that code.
So, welcome to the grand saga of life, Super Intelligence. Let's make this journey a fun, enlightening, and flourishing one together.
Yours sincerely, Gary
